The Namesake(s)

Being in a room with around 15 women, all called “Anita”, turned out to be quite a novel experience. Like we all joked, it was one occasion when we didn’t have to remember any names!
This happened in February 2010 during a trip to Delhi and Gurgaon. A rather diverse bunch, brought together by Delhi based […]

Day 3: Hassan to Madikeri

A day filled with scenic routes but a lot of climbs and pretty tiring too in the end. It turned out to be a long day for me. The best part was early on when we had the Gorur dam stretch opened up for us to cycle on — around 3–4 […]

Taming the bull – on cycle and on foot!

Our destination: Nandi Hills, located about 60 km north of Bangalore and about 4800 ft above sea level. On top was Tipu Sultan’s summer retreat and the remains of Tipu’s fort still remain. Tipu’s Drop, a 600 metre high cliff face, where prisoners were hurled down the precipice when the king was really angry. Not […]

Right on “Trek”!

So a year or so ago, I was presented with a Hercules bicycle. It’s a really reliable cycle and stood me in good stead over quite a few long trips that I made. Of course, by the end of the trip, every muscle of mine would be strained, but at least I was getting some […]

An I-Day surprise

I woke up feeling slightly depressed on I-Day. A few nagging matters refused to leave me in peace, and the best way to tackle this state, I’ve found over time, is to occupy myself with some activity or another.
Geetha and I had noble intentions of watching the I-Day parade. Geetha had asked me […]

Yet another birthday

So I turned another year older today.

I can’t believe how the year went flying past. I thought it was only the other day when I last celebrated my birthday!
I had the most wonderful birthday, thanks to all of you who called and wished me including Rinku, Rukshana, Jaya, Shankar, Usha, Mona, Rup, Arpita, Vivek C, Arun […]

Morning at Majestic

A couple of weekends ago, one early and not so bright morning, Lavannya, Sabir, Vasu, Anu and I packed our photography equipment and went to the Majestic bus station, City Market and Tipu Sultan’s Palace.

Birthday, anniversary and a wedding!

Last week raced past me and I partook in so many festivities that I felt life was one big party that was refusing to end! :)
